Eeny Meeny Miny Mo

Going to pick up an ultra 45 in the next few weeks.
Looking at the Colt Defender, the Kimber Ultra and the Sig Ultra.
My only requirement is reliability. The Colt is looking good.
Any suggestions from owners past or present?🤔

How can you go wrong? Obviously, being a Kimber forum, we'll extol the wonderfulness of the Kimber Ultra, but I can't think of any negatives for the other two.

I saw Springfield has a new model the "Saint" due out soon. I'd expect it will be a striker fired pistol. I'm thinking you're stuck on the 1911 design from the models you've mentioned though?

The winner will be my EDC, relegating the P938 to BUG. Looks not important but trustworthiness is paramount.

Yup, and for all the obvious reasons.

It's definitely a toss up, 3 good Ultra's. I think looks would make me choose which one I like in this case and that would be the Kimber.

The Ultra CDP ll wins the beauty contest hands down but I'm not looking for a BBQ gun. If however it's reliability is up there... But form follows function for my needs.

I have 2 Kimber Ultra's the CDP (9mm) and the Tactical (.45) and they've both been 100% reliable from day one, the Tactical has been my favorite EDC for the last year. Is there any particular Kimber model that you're considering?

I doubt you'll go wrong with any of your candidates here. My 9mm PRO CDP II has never had a failure with the exception of the time I tried out a spring rated for .38 super. The softer carry melt lines are a nice feature. I'll bet that Ultra CDP II in .45 will do more than look pretty :-)

The Ultra CDP and Tactical have everything you would want in a carry gun and they look good too.
