I need to buy a Holster!

I want to buy a holster for my CDP Pro. I am going to be a Range officer at the shooting Range I recently became a member of. RSO's are allowed to open carry side arms while on duty.
I would like a leather OWB LH lined with suede or some other suitable material. Also not sure if I want a thumb snap style or not. I would like to hear your thoughts or suggestions on this matter. I have never carried before so I do not know the pro's and cons to open carry holsters. Also thinking double mag pouch for my weak side. I want to present my Kimber properly if you know what I mean.
Hoffbrew, JC45, Pops6116 and 1 others like this.

Where freedom dwells is my country!

CDP Pro II .45 acp
Raptor II (blue) .45 acp
Eclipse II 10 mm
Ultra Carry II .45 acp
Stainless Pro Carry II
Solo STS 9 mm

Make sure it has a retention snap. It ain't a quick draw competition. Also I like the holsters with the double belt slots. It helps keep the holster in place with the pants belt loop in-between the holster's belt slots.

I wish I could recommend Brigade Gun Leather, but unfortunately I can't.
Don't get me wrong, the Hoplon holster is made extremely well. I waited for it almost a year and when I called right after I got it to say, the color didn't match the pictures in the website, I was told by Troy that he would make it right.
Anyway I didn't get back to him for almost a year later and when I did he told me to send him pictures of the holster. He also told me that each computer monitor had different pixels and that could be the reason the colors didn't match.
Contrary to what some people say I am not and idiot.
There is a difference between the Cordovan or Oxblood color , I wanted and is on their website and the Dark Walnut I received. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and he was going to think about how to make the holster the color I originally ordered.
I'm still waiting to hear from him. Except for color and the fact the belt scrapes as it goes into buckle on both sides, The quality is excellent.
Yes buy a retention strap model.

I was ready to recommend Wright Leather Works until I saw you wanted a retention strap. I have 3 of their holsters and love them.

Kimber has this holster. I have the right hand Ultra size holster, it came with the CDP Ultra I bought used, I like it pretty well and I used it until I found one I liked better, decided I didn't need a retention strap on a CC holster.
$76 bucks, has Kimber logo, made by DeSantis. Once I got it broke in, it was just about as fast to draw from as my holster without a thumb break. Thumb break for an open carry holster would be a real good idea IMO.
