New forum member and Kimber infant

I am a new Kimber addict and have some beginner questions. I purchased a Custom Eclipse II at a gun show a while ago. It had an "idiot mark" on it from assembly by the previous owner and being a beginner, I "improved" on the idiot mark. Anything I can do about that besides being more careful? Outside of that, it is beautiful and very accurate. Also, it really is a Custom Eclipse II. What is the difference between that and the Eclipse Custom II?

I liked it so much I had to go out and buy a Custom Covert II. That is brand new but also accurate. Not as accurate as my Eclipse but have only put 100 rounds through it.

All my purchases have just increased my addiction and thinking of getting another soon. Any suggestions? i am trying to make up for lost time!

Jake1992, welcome to KimberTalk Logo most expensive.JPG

Since the flats on the Eclipse are highly polished, you can probably buff out most of the idiot scratch.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Jake1992. The frame on the Eclipse II is stainless steel and has a brush polished finish so the idiot scratch shouldn't be too hard to fix.

A tiny bit of polishing compound on a dremel buffer pad and the machine set on a low speed will make your newbie scratches disappear.

Welcome to the group. We like pictures.

Jake, welcome to the site from Tennessee! Lots of methods for preventing the idiot scratch but I find a simple "guitar pick" works great for me and is easy to keep several around in the range bag and clean up box and or work bench.
My next "fix" will be a Stainless Raptor, probably Ultra or Pro unsure of barrel length at this moment.
