Better safe than....

Stopped at ATM at 530 this morning, not a bad area and not great either, on way to work. There's a ****ty ass looking pickup truck (with even a worse looking guy behind the wheel) looking at his phone. He's two parking spots from the ATM so Ultra Aegis goes from my glove box to inside my waste band, under my shirt and I'm on my way

Turned out to be nothing, but I'd rather have and not need than need and not have.

I was sitting in my pickup at about 0530 at an ATM, I was just about to go use it. To get money so I could buy flowers for my wife. But then my wife texted me, chewing me out for being out all night.
A guy pulls up and reaches into his glove box, I'm no rocket scientist but I know what that means. No way I'm going anywhere near that ATM, I got the hell out of there. Wife was madder then hell and I didn't even have flowers.

Smart move azguy, this is why I carry from the time I wake up until I go to bed.

Tankgunner, good thing I wasn't drinking anything because I would have spit it across the room, that was great.

I wish it really was me in that crappy old truck, because then I'd be in AZ instead of CA.

I go there often and plan on buying a home there in the next year. I was just there a week ago and always feel sad when I cross the border back into CA.

I drive from the CA Central Valley to Tucson the normal and by far the most use route for this drive is 99 to 5, over the grapevine through outer LA to 10 though Indio and Phoenix to Tucson. First time I drove it absolutely hated it. Can't stand the Grapevine, LA and Phoenix traffic suck hard and Indio, I call it 'windyo' always blows hard enough to move you a lane over on the freeway.

My route is 99 to 58 through Tehachapi, jump on the 40 in Barstow, at Needles take hwy 95 south(beautiful scenic drive)to 10. Then before Phoenix I take hwy 85 south to 8(another scenic drive)to 10 and Tucson. While it may actually be longer mile wise, it's shorter time wise, no traffic. It's a 12 hour drive. Can't wait to go back.
