Todays Range Trip

I'll start with the boring part. My Kimber ran flawlessly through 150 rounds. My "other" 1911 did the same. It's a Rock Island CS Tactical, which is an officers size gun. The rest of the guns were revolvers, my Smith & Wesson 65 with a three inch barrel (my favorite handgun) my S&W 442 J frame, and a .22 Taurus 990 Tracker. Shot the steel plate range as usual. Practiced shooting from cover, shooting while moving, weak hand only, strong hand only, and several other drills. It was hot but after the winter we had I'm not complaining. Spent two hours cleaning guns, then took a nap. Great day!

It's something to do with diving that Insta Gator started the other day.

In Scubaboard.com there is a thread that has been around for many years, in various incarnations. This thread has a set of rules in the first post. The last rule, #40, says this.

40. Being hated because you are diving is an honor in this thread. Going diving whenever possible and being hated is to be cherished.

Many times when someone is going diving or buying diving equipment, the rest of us will simple post "40" The diving/buying person will understand.

I'm thinking this place could use a rule #40 ...

40. Being hated because you are shooting/buying guns is an honor in this thread. Going shooting/buying guns whenever possible and being hated is to be cherished.

So, in honor of Chuck66 abundance of gun purchases ...

Hey Islander...
After hearing you talk about the private or members only ranges you belong to, we went to take a visit of this range about 10 miles from our condo...
Click the facilities tab on the left for pics...

Looks pretty good Jeff. I highly recommend a club that has competitions. It would make you much more prepared for the real world then just shooting at a paper target.
