Shooting Times On New Kimbers
This month's issue of Shooting Times Magazine has an article reviewing Kimber's two new "pocket pistols", the K6s .357 magnum and the 9mm Micro 9.
The article gave a good description of the mechanics of both pistols. It noted features unique to each pistol. The shooting review covered firing for function, firing for velocity and accuracy. Neither firearm experienced any malfunctions. Both were credited with having good, not excellent triggers. Finally, the firing for accuracy was sandbag rested at 25 yards. The accuracy was not very impressive at that distance. Both averaged in the area of 2+ inches with some groups with various ammo going 3 to 4 inch. That is hardly an accuracy test for a short barreled concealed carry firearm. The accuracy tests should have been made at realistic combat range.
Over all, the Shooting Times author had a good impression of both guns. He listed no cons, design deficiencies or need for improvement. He considered both to be excellent examples of concealed carry firearms. He mentioned that 7 round magazines were now available from Kimber for the Micro 9. He also noted a few holsters that were available or soon to be available for these new guns.
All in all, a good review of these Kimber products. Thanks ST!!
