Over Due Range Visit

I actually caught a break today and made it over to the range. I took my Super Carry Pro, Sig P238 and my Kimber .22 conversion kit.

I ran 100 rounds of Freedom Munitions 238 gr RN .45 through the SC Pro without a problem, wasn't expecting any.

Next up was the Sig P238, I hadn't had it out since I discovered the broken firing pin and waited for Sig to send me a new one. I'd been working on turning one of the worse triggers I ever pulled (10+ lbs) into something decent. I replaced the plastic trigger with a metal one, did a little stone work and replaced the hammer spring. Wow what a difference that made, I'll bet I cut the trigger pull in half. Suddenly that little puppy became a pleasure to shoot and I never dreamed it could be as accurate as it was. I went through 100 rounds of Freedom Munitions 100 gr RNFP .380 without a problem.

Next up was the Kimber .22 conversion kit. Because of the lack of .22 ammo in my area this is the first chance I got to try it since getting it for my birthday in 2013. I pulled the slide off my SC Pro and replaced it with the .22 slide. Slapped in a magazine full of Remington Thunderbolts and proceeded to have a ball. I went through 200 rounds like nothing, it seemed a bit funny shooting .22's out of a .45 but it sure was fun. Two other shooters come over to look at it, they didn't know Kimber made .22 conversion kits for 1911's. I let them take a couple of shots and they couldn't believe how nice it was, one guy walked away saying he was going to buy one.

My range bag was a hell of a lot lighter walking back out to the truck minus the 400 rounds I blew off and I had a huge smile on my face.

I don't have one of those camera phones, hell I don't even have a cell phone and I'm not about to lug my camera bag with my DSLR and lenses with me it's bigger then my range bag. As a matter of fact I cut back on the number of guns I usually take to the range, the damn range bag is getting too heavy, I need one on wheels.

You're forgiven then...
As for as the weight on the range bag...
I have to carry one for the normal six shooters we take along with another to just haul the 8 boxes of ammo...
I thought about putting everything in my cooler that has wheels and a long pull out handle, but haven't had the nerve to do that yet...
Imagine the looks that I would get walking into the range...
