New custom holster for the Compact Stainless II

Finally got the new holster in from Wright Leather Works after about a 14 week wait. It was custom made for my Compact. Well worth the wait in my opinion. It fits like a glove. Draws and holsters smoothly. I've already used it for CC and works great. I do need a better belt I think. The one shown is one I just had in my closet. It's a bit flimsy.

Thanks Chuck, I'm really happy with it. When you find one you like on their site, there's a drop down menu for you to choose your particular gun and the color leather you want. The only drawback is the wait time. On the other hand, quality is worth the wait. Mine was about $100.

The wait is understood when you order a custom made holster. 14 weeks isn't bad for a good holster, there are shops where the wait time is double digit months.

Talking Holster Looks Familiar!!

Byrdman,

That holster design sure looks familiar to me!! It is an Askins-type designed by Col Charles Askins, army officer, legendary U.S. Border Patrolman, hunter and adventurer. He was a contemporary of Border Patrolman Bill Jordan and was in nearly as many gunfights. (Between cleaning Japanese soldiers out of caves as a combat Marine during WWI and incidents along the border in Texas, Jordan survived over 300 gunfights.) See attachments:

I use a Blackhawk Model 28 Askins Compact Concealment Holster for my EDC pistol, a Smith and Wesson M&P.40 Shield. It keeps the pistol high and tight to the body and leaves little to no printing even under a t-shirt.

It's a great holster. Enjoy yours!!

I had Wright make my holster for my P938 and I have one on order for my Kimber Ultra Carry II. I also use a Wright belt - very secure.

Keith, if you haven't done so yet it sounds like you might enjoy reading "Unrepentant Sinner" the autobiography of Col. Charles Askins. I had mixed feelings after reading his story, he was a real S.O.B.

Col. Askins was not ashamed to tell folks that he had killed 27 men in gunfights during his career. He also noted that there were others, but he didn't keep track of those. I believe he just might have had all the qualifications to be called an S.O.B. He was not a man to be on the wrong side of!!

To his credit, he did design a great holster!!!

BTW Chuck, I like your new bottom tag line!!! Did your parents really abuse you and damage you little ego as child?? MINE, TOO!

As I grew up, if I got into something, I had three responses I was allowed to give my father (he retired as an Air Force Brigadier General): "Yes, Sir!, No, Sir! and No Excuse, Sir!! The consequences were delivered by "Mr. Brown", a thick, heavy Sam Brown belt left over from Dad's Army Air Corps uniforms!! I remember "Mr. Brown" to this day!! He did instill respect!!
