New Super Carry Pro

My Super Carry Pro will be delivered to the local gun shop tomorrow. I have seven Wilson mags and 1K rounds of 230 gr. FMJ waiting. I'm not new to 1911's but is there anything particular I need to know about this Kimber?

Yes there is....It will make you want another and another until your wife takes the keys to your laptop because you just keep looking at Kimbers and using your grocery money to buy another....

Seriously, clean it, lube it and shoot the snot out of it...

Luckily for me; my wife enjoys guns too. She has a micro carry .380 for daily carry and nickle plated, Smith and Wesson Model 38 in the night stand!

Congratulations on the SCP, in 800 rounds when it's time to replace your recoil spring get the Wilson Combat Flat Wire Spring Kit. The new recoil spring will be good for 40,000 rounds and you won't need the L tool or anything else to break the gun down.

I clicked your link and have a rookie question......

What's the little hole in the guide rod for on that WC setup?

It's for a break down tool. It's shaped like an Allen wrench and is used to hold the guide spring back during field stripping.

I know that for the Kimber spring + guide rod. But on the WC too?? Chuck said you won't need the L tool to break down.
