Ultra Carry for sale local that states: Off roster first series Kimber ultra carry (no firing pin safety)

Is this a better series?

Some people feel they're more desirable, I have 2 older Kimbers that don't have the firing pin safety, (pre II). I also have 2 newer kimbers without it. Kimber still makes them, my Classic Carry Pro and Super Carry Pro are two examples. If it was a good deal on a gun that I wanted I wouldn't let it influence me either way unless it said Clackamas Oregon on the side. Then I'd probably buy it because I a Kimber fan and I'd like to have a gun from the original factory.

I totally agree with Chuck's post and I will add I have several (Pre II) models, three are the SIS model series. I can't tell any difference in the way they shoot, function, or accuracy.
If I had a chance to purchase a Clackamas model Kimber I would probably buy it, but not currently searching for one. I did purchase three of the four SIS models that were discontinued in 2010 because they appeared to be getting to popular status but maybe not "collector."

I say based on the state you live in you should buy it without question.
