Kimber Ultra+CDPii .45ACP 3" Barrel

Hello To All,
I am getting close to the end of a Layaway purchase of thie Ultra CDP. But now I am feeling a bit of "Buyer's Remorse" I have researched this gun extensively and, apart from some feeding issues, everyone who owns one seams to love it.
My doubts concern the aluminum frame. I am wondering if I should have bought the Eclipse 3" stainless. I am in California, so my choices are limited. But they do include both of these pistols. My previous gun is a Glock 20, Steel and plastic. No Aluminum.
I am not concerned with the added recoil of the lighter gun. What dose concern me is durability. The relatively soft aluminum has me a bit worried.
I might be able to arrange a modification of my Layaway. Whether or not I try will depend upon what this forum has to add.
Thanks,
Bill

You can't afford enough ammo to wear an aluminum frame out!! Enjoy your new gun.

That aluminum frame is good for about 50,000 rounds, I have an Ultra CDP II and 3 other Kimbers with aluminum frames one of them is approaching 20,000 rounds and it looks like new.

Hey Bill, you worry to damn much about chit you can't control and things that probably never happen. Did you not worry about your "Plastic Glock" breaking? How did you get over that?
Enjoy your new Ultra and "If" something happens Kimber will fix it!!!!

2sharp2,
You said it! "Bill,You worry too much!" I even worry that I worry too much! I think that is a product of growing up in N.Y.C. In fact, I'm sure of it. Ya godda have been there.
Thanks to all,
Bill

Sorry Bill, just had to poke the stick at you a little bit, to make you feel welcome. Not seen you on here much. My mom worries, my wife, her mother so I am getting used to it.

I have the Kimber Solo and Colt Mustang Pocketlite, both with aluminum frames. Fired a couple thousand rounds between the two. Both look like new, but then I'm careful. I alternate carrying one or the other in a shoulder holster throughout the day (lately I just carry the Solo). I'm more concerned with the KimPro II finish than I am the aluminum frame on the Solo. Best wishes on your Ultra CDP. I think you made a great choice.
