New Kimber Ultra Raptor Pics & Range report!!! e

Wow this Pocket Cannon rocks!!!! I picked up my Raptor today and while in the LGS another customer asked me what kind of new toy ? I showed him the new Ultra raptor and he remarked " Pretty gun, I bet that one kicks like a Mule!". I said I have expectations with the stout 18# recoil spring it should be manageable!
Took it to the range and Wozer this Ultra just Rocks ! My first Kimber and also 3" 1911 so I wasn't sure what to expect!! It handled better than my Sig C-3 with a 4.25" barrel and alloy frame weighing 280z. I am guessing because of the better build quality, and heavier recoil spring!! The C-3 was only $800 new and my new Ultra was a steal IMHO at $1028 plus shipping and transfer fee! The targets I placed at 3 yards were 3" shootN C bulls and I did not expect to shoot the new one this well! Absolutely no hiccups !!! Cant wait to get more rounds down range @500 for EDC reliability . I was running Wilson Combat mags and the Kimber mag that came with it shooting Federal 230 Ball target ammo!

Sounds like a fun range visit! We have a Sig C3 too & I agree about it's recoil feeling worse than either of my Kimbers.

do you think it is the recoil spring difference or overall design any thoughts?

That's the way to start a new relationship. Congrats on the purchase and range time.
