Holster Question???

Hi,

I am ordering a pocket holster for my new Micro 9. The holster material is cowhide leather molded.

Should I get the holster lined inside?

Thinking it may help protect the gun finish by reducing wear and make it smoother to draw.

What do you all say is it worth the $20 more to line it? Why/Why not? Thanks for your insite.

Good Shooting,
Bill

I would pay another $20 to line the holster. No matter what you do you can still get holster wear but this may help slow the process. I know if I didn't get it lined I would always question why I cheaped out for $20, especially if my new gun was getting scratched up.
I know some will say it's just a tool and who cares about wear marks on a tool but I'm someone who makes a living with my tools and I believe in taking care of them.

My thoughts exactly JC45. Like you I look after my tools. I shot an email to see what material he uses for the lining. Really for $20 I think it would be foolish not to go with it.

I haven't ever carried before now. So have no experience on leather holsters. I have a Blackhawk for my 1911 which is thermal plastic, that I use at the range. Have not noticed any wear on the gun as yet. But that set up doesn't get used daily like My plan for the Micro.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Bill
I had the same delima when I ordered a custom holster for my Micro 9mm. I wanted something really nice and got the Tooling and Leather Lined option. Its hard to see in this pic but you can see a little of it. The only thing noticable is it adds some thickness to the holster overall. I love this little holster but not sure if I'd get the lining or not if had to do again...... but would get the tooling, I absolutely love it !!

The tough part, when ordering online is not actually seeing an example of the finished product, strapping it on and putting your carry weapon in it to see how it feels in person.

That's a pretty looking holster TG. What is the lining material if you don't mine me asking.

I want to pocket carry. Hence the Back Pocket model. It can be front or back pocket. I am leaning to the front pocket. My worry is the holster being to thick and bulky with the lining.
