Kimber Sales

I'm wondering if there is a source here on the forum, maybe a Kimber rep, that can answer a question I have regarding sales volume by model. I'm specifically interested in the number of Solo pistols sold annually since production began. Inbox me or reply here. Or maybe another forum member knows where to make such an inquiry...

Thanks.

I don't know if that information is going to be available to the public. That information could be valuable to competitors.

I have researched this until I'm blue in the face with no luck..
I called Kimber about a year ago and inquired and was told that those numbers weren't released to the public..
I have also read on here that Kimber was the #1 seller of 1911's and I just don't buy that.
.

I suspected that it might not be available but couldn't hurt to ask.

I think it's quite possible that Kimber sells more 1911's than other manufacturers. Their marketing model like Sig Sauer is to position a large variety of designs to appeal to a wider group of buyers. Most other manufacturers have a more limited 1911 selection. They also tend to be at the middle of the road price point as far as quality 1911's go. You can pay a lot more or a lot less for a decent 1911. They seem to understand the demographic well. Normally, companies will not release sales figures for specific products.
Marshall and Robbstercraws like this.

I didn't think about that.. They do have many more models to choose from than any of their competition..

I've read many times that Kimber is the largest producer of 1911's in the world.

I'm not doubting you but as much as I have researched this, I have never seen one article on this claim..

A while back someone (I believe) on the 1911 forum posted copies of the yearly paper work Kimber had to submit to the ATF as part of their yearly report. At that time I remember it showed that had made over 100,000 guns, I think that was for the year 2010.
