American Rifleman

The latest issue of NRA's American rifleman has a BIG write-up about Kimber's Micro 9. From glancing thru, you would think all the other pistol manufacturers should just hang it up. I wonder how much Kimber paid the NRA for this "advertisement?"

...and the magazine also included a sidebar article on Kimber the company. Both articles are worth a read.

I don't think they did Kimber any favors by stating that the Micro 9 is an unpleasant gun to shoot. Just the opposite, I was pleasantly surprised how my Micro 9 shoots.

Writers' goals shouldn't be to do favors to the manufacturers. Their goal should be to report the truth. I'm no fan of Fake News.

Earlier this week I was reading an article in Handguns. The author made the keen observation that the trigger mechanism had a disconnector, and commented that although the sights were plain black, he really liked them. That's just a steaming pile of BS from a journalism student who took a beginner class at the indoor range.

No, I don't think they should do any favors either. My comment was in regard to the previous comment stating "I wonder how much Kimber paid the NRA for this advertisement" if it was a paid advertisement it would have all been positive.

Yeah, I noticed that. I don't own a Micro, but it can't be any more "unpleasant" to shoot than my pocket S&W 642 with +p loads.

Kimber doesn't pay for articles. They do advertise heavily in AR though, and donate a lot of guns to NRA events.
