Kimber verses Sig

Some background, I have owned handguns for 60 years but with the exception of a couple of S&W M52 and a M41, they have all been revolvers. About a year ago I became interested in the SD/HD types of weapons. My present inventory is a G23, G43, CZ P-01, Sig P224, P225a1 and P226L.

The G43 belongs to my wife so I am looking at the Micro 9 with CT grips for a CC handgun. My question is for those that have or, are familiar with both Kimber and Sig handguns, which make do you prefer and why? All comments are appreciated.

The only Sig I have is the P938 and while I'm a self-professed "Kimber Fanboy", I was scared off the micro's and micro 9's from all the problems I heard and read about and the P938 has been simply flawless in the 1,500 I have run through it.

The P938 is nearly but ugly but who cares, it goes bang every time.

Awwwwwwwe, they are not all butt ugly. But I agree.
Love my P938 Extreme.
Being a fanboy is ok, but don't let anything sway you. If its going to be an HD gun, no matter what it is, it should be reliable foremost.

I had a P938 Extreme and it was a great little pistol. Very accurate, too.
I just woke up one day and decided to get rid of my small SA carry pistols. I don't mind an Officer size... err, I mean "Ultra" sized 1911, but something about those micro guns with their micro safeties just put me off them. If I want to carry something small it's either a G42, but more than likely my Ruger LC9s.

I have a Sig P938 and P238, I bought them both before Kimber came out with the Micro Carry and Micro 9. Today a lot of them are trouble free but if anyone here thinks that Sig didn't have more then their fair share of problems when they first started producing these guns then they are sadly mistaken. Check out Sig Talks P238, P938 sub forums, members there are reporting problems daily. Yes, I would have bought a Micro Carry and Micro 9 if I hadn't already owned the Sig's.

And this is my point that just because any gun make or model has problems ( especially early on in their production run ) can still end up being a respectable firearm.

I don't believe a pocket gun exist today that's as dependable and of a net cost value to me to ever consider as a replacement pocket gun for my P938 SAS.

...to each his own

Well, but ugly maybe harsh but it is very accurate, dependable and because of that I've refrained from heading into the Micro 9 world, even being a fanboy

I don't think my Sig P938 SAS is butt ugly or even plain ugly.

I own the Micro .380 and the Sig P938.

I bought the Micro a few years ago and had nothing but problems with it. Three times back to Kimber and they finally had to replace it. The replacement had all the same issues. My local gunsmith worked on it for a few days and now it's flawless. I've heard that most of the issues have been worked out with the newer ones (the .380s).

I bought the P938 Extreme as an alternative to the Micro and it's been nearly flawless other than an initial issue with the disconnect/slide lock lever trying to walk out. No FTFs, FTEs ...perfect. Plus it looks good

I carry both depending on what I'm wearing since both are equally reliable and accurate.
