2017 Ultra CDP on order

ordered my Ultra CDP a month ago..I still don't have it...my retailer called their distributor and they just said, " when we get it from Kimber, we'll ship it"....any guesses how long it takes to get them from Kimber?....is this normal time frame?

I was talking with my gun shop yesterday. He told me that some stores can buy from Kimber direct and others, like him, need to go through a distributor.
I would venture a guess a store or distributor that moves a lot of Kimbers is going to get first dibs on any new models. My favorite gun shop moves a lot of Colt 1911's and always has just released models, Talo models and Lew Hortons.
He did mention that his distributor had the Pro CDP, but I didn't inquire about the Ultra. It usually takes him three days to get in anything he orders from his distributor.

I see the Ultras on GB, so they're out there. I don't think I could wait a month.

I ordered new kimbers for a lgs before and am currently waiting for a micro 9 cdp lg . The shortest time was 3 months the longest 6 months but that was when they just came out with the solo stainless.

GunBroker No Waiting

This is just me but I wouldn't wait a month. I have not checked but I would bet a dollar to a donut that you can buy one on GunBroker and not only have it in your hand within 7 or 8 days and probably save a good amount of money over your LGS price.
It seems intimidating the first time or two but it really isn't. They have tutorials to get you thru the process.

CDP Ultra is my EDC.

I'll take that donut. I said in my post they were already available on GB
Double chocolate please

A month wait is nuts. Unless it's like your FIL than owns the gun shop...

yep, sometimes you just got to bite the bullet, so to speak. Fortunately, I have several FFLs that don't mind letting me do the leg work and charging me 25.00 for the transfer. so it's usually cheaper that way.

Agreed.
I don't mind paying a little more at the LGS... if he has it or can get it to me in decent time... but when you get into the $100 more range for a $1000 gun, that's getting to be a little too much.

Plus he sells on GB himself. I see him selling lots of guns online that never make the display at his store. Going for that bidding war and high dollar.

It evens out, but I do miss buying guns the old fashioned way sometimes.
