It uses the same as the 5" or Custom and Pro models (5.25" height.) As I understand it, Kimber only has two size grips, the smaller Ultra grip (4.75" height) and the standard grip (5.25" height.) The Ultra+ can be described as a Ultra with a standard grip, or a Pro with a shorter barrel. Just as the Compact can be viewed as an Ultra with a 4" barrel or a Pro with a shorter grip.

As Gary already posted the Ultra Plus uses a standard size 8 round magazine. I've got over a dozen Kimber Kim-Pro Tac-Mags and never had a problem with any of them.

Because that's the one they sell, if you use the link in my post you can get it from MidwayUSA for $29.99.

Thanks Insta-Gator,
That makes life easier. What about the 2 grades of magazines that Kimber offers- the standard and the Hi-something or other?

As was mentioned, I like the Pro TAC magazines. Most of us use those or Wilson Combat.

I'm with Steve. Can't go wrong with either one.

If I am being a pest, I apologize. But I have one more question about magazines. The magazine that came with the gun holds only 7 rounds. It is 4.5 inches long, yet the gun is the Ulra + model. Now I do not know whether to get the 7 or the 8 round magazine. I have not yet fired the gun, but will a compact magazine work with a Standard grip? Or did the seller get it wrong again by giving me a magazine that dose not match the gun?
