Kimber Conversation 1911 22LR

I was wondering if anyone has the normal target 5" version work on a ultra frame?

Well I've got the time and I have both .22 conversion kits so why not see what it looks like. Here is the Target slide on my Ultra CDP.

It goes on and the first thing you can see if the gap between the frame and the slide. I can rack the slide, nothing hits or binds but I don't think I'd shoot this combination especially since I also have the compact kit.

Yeah, it would probably work that way if you really had to use it but I don't think I would fire it that way unless it was life or death.

Thanks for the pic. Just I could get a used one for $100. But that gap I think would make me nervous. Steel slide twists a little that's probably going to hit that aluminum frame front.

Then why not just go with the Kimber Compact Conversion Unit for your Ultra?

I put my Kimber 5" Conversion on my Ultra, saw that gap and decided that was not a good idea. The easy fix (for a paltry $298) was to get the Kimber Compact Conversion Unit.

Fit is perfect and it fits as wanted in my Milt Sparks VM-2 IWB rig for when I'm in the outback and want a rimfire pistol out of the way.
