Kimber Ultra 45ACP Best Mags Carry

Hello all,

I know there are good and great magazines out there. I have had the kim pro tac mags and Wilson combat 47oxc. I do like the WC better.
I have noticed that the stock springs don't last long if keep them loaded. I was getting some FTF on last 2 rounds. Think that's a sign of weak spring.
I ordered 47SFK-7 with are the rounded out follower and for full size 7 round. I want to see if I loose a round in my compact mags. I wanted to try 47oxc-hv 6 round compact mags, did a little research and found it is the same tube with 47SFK-10 in it.

Let me know what you use?

I use Kimber Kim-Pro Tac mags in my Ultra Tactical II and haven't had any problems. A magazine spring won't wear out from being constantly compressed. A spring wears out from being worked, compressed, released, compressed, released etc.
Hoffbrew and Hawker800 like this.

I use/carry 8 round Kim-Pro Tac magazines as my EDC extras/spares. They have never caused a problem.

Keeping mags loaded won't wear out the springs. Springs wear with use, that is, compression and release. Try making sure the mag tube is clean on troublesome mags A small amount of debris or rust can affect function.

I use Wilson 47D's.

Not sure how new they are but Wilson combat I see makes 6 round HD/+P. Part 47oxc-hv
I have the 47oxcb and I ordered Spring/Follower Kit, Wilson 10 rd. .45 ACP Full-Size Magazine Item Number: 47SFK-10. Per support this will make my mags HV version just be black.

Will try them out soon. Don't like that my 47oxcb stock follower and etm follower still have nose dive for couple FTF.

I had a spring collapse on a S&W M&P 45 and it seems common on these magazines. S&W sent me a new spring but I ordered some from Wolff Springs and they were much nicer than the stock spring. I haven't had any issues with my 1911 mags.

Did they fix the follower issue? Seen people say when lockup empty the metal follower is traveling forward and hitting the frame.

As far as I know they have. Mine work fine and I have both 7 round mags for carry and just bought some 10 round ones for the range.
