Thumbs up Dag Nab it if I did it by gum!

Finally was able to go to a Gun Range today I believe it was over five maybe six mos. since the last time I was able to go shooting. An eternity when you have new guns that you have not been able to pull the trigger on. I brought my Solo STS and my Ultra Carry II.

First I will say, wait for it! Wait for it!!! "The Solo ran perfect". Just a small sampling 4 six rd. factory mags loaded with 124 gr. FMJ RN Blazer Brass. I thought I had a ftf on the first magazine but then I realized the Solo mags are only six rounders and it was just waiting for me to pop in another mag. I will say that the Solo is fun to shoot but I definitely need range time with it. I feel I would have a much better grip on it if I had some pinkie rests on the mags.

The Ulta was awesome I say that because this is the first time I was able to take it to the range since I performed my first trigger job ever on a 1911 or any gun for that matter. In a post several months ago I had told you that I had bought the ceramic stones and the Ed Brown sear jig from Brownells. I did an excellent job even if I do say so myself. It now may have the best feeling trigger of any my 1911's.
I ran one factory kimber mag. and five magazines from Joe's, one mag loaded with 185 grain Remington Golden Sabre JHP's. I think I like those Sabre's . My first mag was loaded with 230 gr. fmj's and the second mag was the hollow points. the final four mags were all loaded with the 230 gr. fmj's. Here is my first two shots with the Ultra again these were the 230 gr. fmj rds. First shot center mass second shot head. The subsequent rds were rapid fire! I should mention no hiccups with the Ultra also.20170508_132738_resized[1735].jpg

The bottom target was with the Solo the other targets were from the the ultra.

Looks and sounds like you had a good time! That is a good looking pistol, and some good looking targets too. Glad you were finally able to get out to test your handiwork!

Range report part II

IMG_0569_resized.png here is a picture of the great little Solo!!
Okay the shooting is over but in order to top my day off I called in an order for lunch at my favorite Deli which so happens to be just down the street from the range. When I pulled into the parking lot to pick up my sandwich lo and be hold I saw this goat! Wow! brings back my day's growing up in Fotana, Ca. (1960's)The last pic is of course my lunch when I got home What an absolutely great day I had! Hope everyone's Monday was great also!

Tom, excellent shooting and very happy you were able to get back to the range.

Just saw the second post...fine looking sammich! One of my best friends had a GTO like that, it took us awhile but we finally got the Tri-Power carbs in tune.
