New Stainless Steel Barrel

My Steel Barrel is rusting on the outside. It is perfectly functional and I cleaned it. It has a 2 in. x 1/2 in. pitted spot now. I am looking for a new stainless steel barrel. Does anyone have any brands they recommend. Hopefully not needing any modifications but I think that is just a pipe dream.

I've a 1911 that is over 20yo and there is not a speck of rust on it. Do you store yours in a pickle jar with the pickles?

I usually keep it in the sink or in the yard when it rains. lol. I don't know how it happened. It is the only rust on the gun and I clean and oil it regularly. It is the only part of the gun thats not aluminum or stainless though.

Would love to see a actual picture of your Kimbers barrel rust. Not questioning you, just never read a post of an actual Kimber owner with the amount of your rust.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois ChrisA, it would nice if you could post a picture of the rust spot, I'd like to see it. In the mean time how about going over to our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership.

It doesn't look that bad to me. More tarnish looking, and I'd bet of no real depth. The problem with getting a new barrel is it would likely need fitting. If this pistol shoots fine, I'd advise to leave it alone, and shoot the crap out of it.
