Snake Slaying with UC II

So today we were doing some general yard work at the Lakehouse. I was cutting some brush down by pump shed and Ms Tejan hollered at me that there was a snake in the porch. I figured it was a grass snake but walked up to check and it turned out to be a Copperhead that had crawled up on the bannister 😬 ( see pic)

So not wanting to blow the hell out of the bannister, I went and got my Bug-a-salt gun. I shot him in the eyes which I'm sure stung like hell. He looked stunned a bit so I reloaded and shot him again and he fell off the bannister on to the ground where it was safe to fire something more appropriate..... like my UC II with 230 gr ammo. Emptied a mag on that sucker 😡

Good news is my UC II performed as it should since I put the original slide spring assembly back in 👍

You have more guts than I do. You first shot was salt? Yikes, what if he could have still made you out clear enough for a bite?

As for the UC2, it's my EDC, too. The only snakes in Madison are two-footed, and there's a ton of paperwork for whacking one of them...

(Glad everyone is safe).

We have lots of snakes in my part of Tennessee. In fact, I let a Chicken Snake (AKA Rat Snake) clear my front mower before continuing to cut 5 acres today. When out doing chores, I carry a J-Frame loaded with CCI Snake loads to address the Copperheads and Timber Rattlers that call my farm "home".

Tejun, maybe your wife would like a new J-Frame with the appropriate CCI load to take care of the snake visitors when you aren't home?
