Mainspring Housing & Magwell

Once a year my LGS sets out a table with misc parts that were returned, the package got damaged, instructions were lost or have been sitting on the shelf too long. It's all as is, no returns make us an offer. Long story short I picked up a Fusion mainspring housing magwell for $20.00, for my Ultra CDP II. It's got 2 very small scratches on it that I can easily cover up. The really great news is that adding just that little bit of extra length to the grip has made the gun feel like a full size grip in my hand. I can now get all my fingers on the grip, I can't wait to shoot it.

I like Ultra's with Magwells!

I traded a '60% (Idiot Marked) condition' Ageis Ultra wearing a Kimber magwell last week straight up for a lnib Pro CDP.
imo......that magwells net value increase to me was about $150.+ regardless of the guns actual condition.

If you have a problem with that, choose a orifice.

Wink Lookin' Good!!

Looks like you found a bargain there Chuck!!! If it helps you hang onto that Ultra CDP, it's an extra bonus!!

I just got back from one of the local gun shops here in beautiful downtown Monroe. I was looking at an Ultra CDP II. It left me with something to remember it by. As I released the slide after safety checking the chamber the slide chewed a big chunk out of my left index finger!!! The was a burred edge on the outside of the slide and it was hungry for some Lineman!!! I bled all over that pistol (you gotta love blood thinners and aspirin--I bleed like a stuck pig)!! The salesman had to break it down and clean it up!!! Never had that happen before!!! DAMN!!!!

Should that have been reported to the police as a firearm accident???

Enjoy your new accessories, Chuck!!! Nice bargain hunting!!

I'm sorry to hear that Keith, where was the burr at? The CDP II line has the "Carry Melt" treatment, there isn't a sharp edge or pointy corner on it. They couldn't have put the gun back in the display case with the burr and they couldn't file it down without damaging the finish so I would imagine it's being returned to Kimber. You might have been in a good position to buy that gun at a deep discount.

It's surprising how much extra grasping surface that additional 3/16" of an inch can change the feel of the gun. Not to mention the easier magazine reloading for a carry gun, I'm loving it.

Hey Chuck43,

did you have to do a lot of fitting for that mainspring housing to fit your ultra?
Looks really nice!
