Rimfire Conversion Kits

I see Kimber has a sale on their Rimfire Conversion Kits. Are these kits really worth it? I already have a .22 cal pistol (Ruger) which I hardly ever use; why would I want a conversion kit?

I think they're worth it, I have both of the conversion kits and really like them. Putting the slide on your carry gun makes for inexpensive practice using the frame and trigger you carry everyday. The grandchildren love shooting my 1911's with the kits on them. I don't think any of my .22 pistols have been shot since I got my first kit.

When you read the description, it says "turn your 45 into a 22". Ok, I am one of those oddballs who shoots 38 Super. Has anyone tried one of these kits on a 38?

The kits fit the 1911 frame, the caliber has nothing to do with it. I use them on both my 9mm and .45 Kimber and Sig Sauer frames.

Thank you. That is what I thought, but the way they had it described it did raise a question to my mind.

The conversion kits do require high velocity rounds to operate properly.

Yes but I don't mind using the better ammo. The kit works so well with it. Do you agree?

I totally agree with you, I prefer to shoot CCI Mini Mags over any other rounds. As far as reliability and accuracy go both my Compact and Target conversion kits run perfectly, I love them.

I have one...works in 5" and Pro size. Question" .22 spring is awfully weak...is that normal and I just used to centerfire springs?
