Have had my Ultra CDP II for three weeks now, and have had 1000 rounds of handloads through it. Initially had some difficulty with failure to go into battery. After some experimenting with seating depth and crimp the problem was solved.
I use copper plated round nose 230 and 200 gr. bullets over 4.8 gr. of Bullseye. My piece likes an overall length of 1.272", and I bought a Lee factory crimp die for crimping. I backed the crimp die off on my Dillon.
I am perfectly satisfied with the performance of this firearm. Have Colt 1911's and this is my first Kimber.
It is worth the price.
Hey, congrats on analyzing and correcting the problem with your reloads. Nice work!! Is that factory crimp die a taper crimp or a roll crimp? Back in the day, when I was reloading, I found that a taper crimp die cured a multitude of issues. One of the best investments I ever made.
