FFL Burglarized

Today I decided I would go by my FFL and pick up my Browning 1911-380 since it had been there since last Thursday. The Raptor I bought from AZGuy1911 is supposed to arrive tomorrow, but I was going to be in the area on business so I figured I would stop by to get the Browning. Got done with lunch meetings and called to be sure someone would be there and the owner answered. His voice was distinctly different (I did not reconized him at first) and he said he was having a bad day and went on to say he'd been burglarized last night

Of course the first thing that jumped into my head was.... omg, my new gun !! But then he said, the good news is your gun was not taken. Whew !! what a relief. Not sure if that means they didn't like it or what , but I am sure glad it was not part of those that were taken.

I will just wait till the Raptor arrives and go get both now.

You have great luck.

Congrats on the pistol from Azguy, too.

I wanted that one but couldn't get funds together fast enough!

Looks like they wanted semi-automatic rifles. 20 stolen.

A lot of FFLs have been burglarized in Houston lately. Texian by West Oaks was hit recently as well as Full Armor on the Katy Freeway, just to name two. I know Justin at Texian specialized in ARs.

Glad you pistol wasn't grabbed.

Hey Longhorn !! How are ya ? Did you end up having to evacuate ?

Yea, I heard about Texian and Full Armor. Full Armor got hit a few days after I bought a Solo there. Kingwood Guns has been in that location about 4 yrs or so. Sounds like their security system was not up to what it needed to be from the news story on ABC 13.

Doing fine! Thanks for asking. No issues in my neighborhood. The only problem is the shooting range where our club goes on the banks of the Brazos near Simonton, was under 6-7 feet of water!! Still waiting for it to dry out so we can shoot again!!

One of my local favorite gun shops was broken into a while back and has now closed his doors. The scoundrels were in his shop for 33 seconds and got 32 guns. He had a pepper gas system in the ceiling but buy the time it activated they were at the counter breaking glass and pulling guns. They had on ski masks, sweatshirt hoodies and gloves so it just sprayed their backs and when they left, the ski masks served as filters so the gas had little effect. They got all pistols except 1 AR. One of the guns turned up a couple weeks later on a person and he knew who the purps were in the break in. The BATF is on the search for them.

I'm sure the shop owners was looking to retire since he has downsized a couple time in the last few years but I'm sure the break-in helped him decide to close shop. He was always fair with me and I'll miss having his shop to check out!
