Yep cuz 6 feet of water in my house. Been there 20 yrs, never had more than maybe an inch in my street and never over the curb. Left by boat with two pair of underwear, 2 shorts and 2 tshirts. Oh, and a pair of crocs. Lost everything on the first floor of my house including my Silverado and my wife's caddy. Took nine days to get back in and one more day to get my digital safe open. I don't recommend Winchester safes. All my Canon buddies are getting new ones sent to them. Winchester only warranties theft and fire not flood. But the Good Lord has taught me a good lesson and I can assure you that my next debris pile will be much smaller. My stainless Gun's came out ok and my Super Carry Pro will have some character marks for sure. My long guns look like Fidos rear. But my AR looks ok. My family is fine and my eighth grand baby is in the oven. We are blessed. It's just stuff. Peace

I'm so sorry to hear that you were flooded. It might be just stuff but it's part of what made a life and a home for you and your family. Sad that you lost so much but happy to know that you and your loved ones are all safe.

Thumbs up Just stuff!

I gotta give you credit you are looking at it in a very logical way. It still hurts and I am sorry to hear of your setback. You and your families health is the most important. Personally I would stay away from digital safes both of mine are older but well made and dial combination locks. I do not think they would be great in a flood other than I would be able to get in my safe right away even under water. I have a feeling you are due for a lot of good things happening to you and yours in the near future. God Bless and carry on!

Sorry for your trouble, glokrok, but it sounds like you have a firm grip on reality and what truly matters. Stuff is just stuff. Glad your family is safe.

Damn! Sorry to hear that. Several of my fishing buddies and shooting buddies go flooded as well. My family was lucky.

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are safe. You're probably overwhelmed with getting your home and life back right now but sometime down the road give Turnbull Restoration a call. This is the company that Kimber had put that beautiful original finish on the Classic Carry Pro's. As their name implies they are restoration specialist and I'd bet that given a chance they could have her looking like new again. In the mean time I hope you've opened her up, dried her out and spray the snot out of it with something like WD-40.

Like everyone has said thankfully only "stuff" was lost. What a nightmare though! I don't guess any of us can truly know what you're going through. Any projection as to when your home will be liveable again?
