Thumbs up I think I got it!

Have to gone to the range several more times and my honey-do has clean the
S_ I _ out of the Raptor and it seems like the problems have gone away. Took my class and test this weekend and not one problem on the range. Plan to go one more time this weekend and hopefully there will be no more problems. I have to try the flush mag though it gave me issues the last time. Still deciding what will be the best ammo to for me at the range. Am going to try Hornady this weekend too!

Okay new range report. Took several different ammo's this time and it went through the raptor like butter on bread. When there is a little more powder I was pulling to the right and low. Most were center mass and a few were off but, the Raptor is performing like I believe it should and the only issue was me for one stove pipe. All the cleaning oiling and shooting ammo through seems to have gotten the bugs out.
So far for the range I prefer the Aguila and Hornaday Critical Defense. I do want to try the Fiocchi before making a decision to buy bulk for the range.

The only time the guide rod would need replacing would be when it broke or you lost it.

What if someone comes up with a "new and improved", "tacti-cool" guide rod that's better than anybody else's ....can I get one then? What if it's "carbon fiber wrapped titanium" ...? What if it's "guaranteed" to take .25" off your 25 yrd groups...? I might just want a new shiny one!

Got another question on cleaning...some people have suggested that we purchase a snake for cleaning. Do I really need one?

I've got one for my .22 caliber rifles, and I don't believe they do nearly as good a job as a rod, patches, and a jag or slotted lead. YMMV.

I've got too much $$ invested in my weapons to go penny-wise and pound-foolish when doing maintenance.

Plus, I'm an old-school, hidebound, red-neck conservative.
