Gold Combat LE

Poking around in the safe and found a slight problem with the Gold Combat LE.
The Ivory grip (if your new, yes they are real Ivory) on the right side has just a hair too much material and it holds off enough of the ambi safety to not fire and function. I guess it's not really a problem since I had not planned on shooting it with the Ivory on it anyway.
Don't really want to alter the grips or pistol. May just put the Ivory grips on a different pistol for awhile. IDK. Just wondering out loud.

Do you think you'll send it to Kimber for repair? That's a really handsome weapon.

Ah, that's a Hell NO. Not a Kimber problem don't cha know. lol

If I really needed/wanted to use it with the Ivory, I'd take it to my gunsmith buddy that fixed and threaded the barrel on the extra Ruger MKIII I bought. To take a little off the underside of the ambi safety.

That’s a great looking gun, I can’t see anything wrong from here.

Arland, if it's just a hair, try and loosen the screws and see if you can move the grip. I wouldn't alter the ambidextrous safety, that gun's worth more than 4 sets of those grips keep it 100% original. Altering the grip would be a better way to go.

Arland you bought that shooter in June of 2015 and for the life of me I can't recall a picture of it with the ivory grips on it before. They look nice, but I still like the black grips the most.

I'm getting my first dremel tool sent to me on Monday and since you're my buddy I will make those beautiful ivory grips my first project if you trust me enough.........

What could possibly go wrong ?????

Ding, ding, ding, Marshall you are correct, it was my present to myself on my 60th birthday. It came with the plain Jane black grips but I installed the black ball milled slotted prior to getting the Ivory grips.

Good idea Chuck, I'll try to move the grip a little?
