Did you happen to check the Blackhawk website? Exactly which Blackhawk is she wanting, I looked but didn't know what she had in mind. Tactical, OWB, IWB, leather?
Somebody here may be using one IDK.

Remind her that the Serpa will wear the finish on that pretty gun sooner than a well-worn leather holster. That being said, I own two Blackhawk Serpas, One is for my Glocks (scratch proof) and one is for 1911s. I don't use the the 1911 model.

I had to line my blackhawk serpa with mole skin to help with wear on the finish. A nice gun deserves holster, I would stay away plastics unless you don't care about the gun.

My wife's Sapphire Pro won't go into anything but leather, in this case Galco.

From my BBQ guns to the old respected war horses, they all go into nothing but the best leather. You don't put recaps on a Porsche and you don't put good guns in plastic holsters, JMHO.

Can't beat a good leather holster. My favorite is my Galco Royal Guard (horse hide) for any of my 1911's. Order the long one and you can carry Ultra to full size with comfort.

LAPD Bans Use Of Blackhawk Serpa Holster - Soldier Systems Daily

LAPD caught up to what others have known for years. Trigger fingers should not be used for multiple tasks. I personally know two that have shot themselves with Serpa holsters in use and one was a 1911.

I've been carrying my Stainless PRO TLE in a Serpa (vertical, no cant) for the last few days. I like the vertical carry position. I've practiced (unloaded) with the Serpa using the 1911 and my G27 (two different Serpas.) My trigger finger always ends up being straight along the frame. It takes a conscious motion to get my finger into the trigger guard. Systems using the double secure method (push and thumb release) seem overly complicated to me. But I do like the idea of my weapon being secured in the holster, whichever method is employed.
