Bust my chops if you want.......

Bust my chops if you want.......just asking a question but I welcome honest feedback and insults if you like. I have thick skin and no one on here will hurt my feelings.
Why do you carry?
To protect:
1) You and you alone
2) You and loved ones
3) You and the innocent sheep nearby
4) everyone except bad guy

Why do I ask? I, for one, carry to protect me, my family and anyone nearby in the event of a whack job hell-bent on killing as many as he can. You know the ones I'm talking about.
So, if you carry for ANY reason other than # (1 ) PLEASE tell me you have MORE than a mouse gun in your pocket, seriously.
If I need to take a shot further than the end of my arm, the little get-off-me gun WON'T do !!!
Anything less than a 9mm is not really going to do much, let alone be very accurate past a certain point. Thank God for the .45.
When I first started carrying I did ccw a measly .380 for a little while. Again, within arms reach it would hurt the perp and at least scare him, but I soon saw the light and sold the couple .380's I had and went bigger. I still have a .22 Beretta as a mouse gun, it's arguably more dangerous than a .25 or even a .380 in my opinion. Yours may not be the same, no worries.
Please carry, and carry the biggest you're comfortable with.

If you knew that tomorrow is going to be the day you have to defend innocent lives, including your life, I'm willing to bet a lot of folks would change their EDC and upgrade to something they thought would give them a better chance of winning. Play to win. No trophies for second place.

Be aware of the laws. If you’re no longer a LEO you cannot shoot a fleeing felon. You must be in fear of great bodily harm to you or someone else before you can use deadly force.
I’m not sure that I would any longer rush to defend anything other than an immediate threat to me or mine. What a shame.

I'd swap my Ultra .45 for my Custom .460 Rowland and carry all my 10 round mags. With the .460 I have the option of shooting .45's with it. My other choice would be a long gun, Remington 700 BDL .338 Win Mag with my moose loads. That gun is easily a MOA 500 yard gun but I can't carry it in Illinois.

If I knew tomorrow was the day, I could make it to my rural 40 acres in the wilderness that is pre ranged and wait it out with my GA Precision HRT rifle and a stack of 30 round AR 15 mags and a spare AR at/in every window sill. After "the day" is over i will either be working a shovel or going out for a beer.

Other than that I would not change what I already do daily.

You didn't have an all of the above! I have my 20 foot perimeter that I maintain, enter with intentions to do harm and I will respond. I am hoping with my Bodyguard 380 and Ammo I can at least mess their day up. I could carry my 45 or 9mm but very hard to conceal in the places I go.

2) myself and my loved ones.

My main goal is to get them to safety and make sure they stay that way. The flock is on their own. I would try to take as many kids around me with me.

I am responsible for me and mine.

YOU are responsible for you and yours.

I need to be in fear for my life, or the life/serious injury of my loved one here in NC. Other people don't cut it.

And BTW, LEOs can't shoot fleeing felons, that's frowned upon. But nobody said anything about Tasers.
