Trigger doesn't reset

Hi all, New here. I have a fairly new Master Carry Pro 45 and I will admit I tried to do the trigger job myself. Just a little bit of stoning on the hammer and sear and some polishing. Now feels great but most of the time the trigger will not reset. Take up and over travel have just a little play. Hammer is cocked after firing but the trigger cant be pulled unless I run the slide part way back and release it then it will fire. Help please.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Vandal. I'd suggest you take your gun to a competent gunsmith and have him look at your trigger.

How about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

I agree with Mike and Chuck. Disconnector is not resetting, and the best course of action would be to take it to a competent gunsmith.

It must be something I did since it shot fine before I messed with it. Someone at the local gun shop said to replace the sear. ???

It is possible you removed to much metal when you polished your trigger it sounds to me though that your over travel is adjust to tight. you can not take out all the over travel or the trigger will not function properly. You have to leave a little.

What Tom said. Now that my memory is jarred, I remember doing Something similar many moons ago. You can probably make corrections by adjusting some other parts.
