Negotiating the Shipping Cost Maze in Online Purchases

Earlier this week I went to the Wilson Combat website store looking for a flatwire recoil spring kit for my Dan Wesson 9mm 1911. Found what I was looking for at a reasonable price ($19.95) but when checking out, the shipping costs were $9.95 for UPS ground and expected delivery was like 5 days or so. Decided not to complete the transaction and did some more shopping. Went to Amazon since I am a Prime Member, but they did not have what I was looking for. Decided to go over to eBay and found a Top Rated Plus seller with 100% positive feedback. They had the same kit for $21.95 with free shipping. Hit the Purchase Now button and two days later, its sitting on my desk ready for installation

Was the price for the spring and new guide rod ? All of my WCFW kits were close to $50 so if you bought it for that price you stole it anyway........

I buy a lot on things on ebay, I bought all my Kimber mags for my CDP all original and brand new with free shipping for about $7 cheaper than on Kimber site. I love ebay and you can get great pricing and free shipping most of the time.

I generally shop around for all firearm related items at multiple places. Never need anything in a big hurry, so I wait for sales if I have to. Bought Kimber Tac Mags during one of their holiday sales years ago for like 30% off or something around there, and got Free shipping buying over a certain $ amount. Don't do Prime or Shamazon at all, won't give Bezos 1$ if I can help it.

The kits for 4” guns with the spring, guide rod and reverse plug run about $50. The kits for full size guns with the spring and guide rod run about $20.

Wow that was a good find I had not tried ebay for wilson combat parts somehow did not figure on finding them there. I like knowing that because what wilson charges to send those kits I think is a little high for as small and light as they are.

I know ! It came in a small bubble wrap envelope. The mail guy just stuck it in our mail slot on the door.

I don't use Amazon anymore because they started charging sales tax in my state.
