First time to shoot a Kimber Ultra

Today while visiting the shooting range I took advantage of renting a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II .45acp. They had a program of 10 shots for 10 bucks.

All my Kimbers are the Pro sized verity.

I have been considering both a Super Carry Ultra HD and an Ultra Raptor.

I have to say I experienced NO perceivable increase in recoil or muzzle flip.
And my accuracy did not suffer in the least with the decreased size and weight.
But then again I only shot out to 15 yards.
Insta-Gator and Lineman like this.

I don't believe it takes much more then average hand strength and a proper grip to properly shoot a 3" .45. So which one are you going to buy next Darrell the Super Carry Ultra HD or the Ultra Raptor?

Ultras are great. Glad you had a chance to experience one first hand.

For those who are concerned about excessive muzzle flip or recoil, please try one when you get the chance. I believe you will love them as much as many of us already do.

I'll put my Ultra 2 Eclipse up against any 5 inch out there for accuracy. Take your time and it's no problem punching a single hole from 8 rounds. ( all 8 rounds touching)

Prefer the all steel SCUHD.

But the Ultra Raptor is sweet also.

Found some bargains out there on either Gun Broker or Armslist.

Always seems I get stuck about $100 - $150 apart with the sellers.

And from the information received here I not going to overpay anymore.

I guess I would have to say I like Ultra's pretty good since 3 of the 4 Kimber's I own are Ultra's. All three of them will group tighter than my full size Colt Government.

I have two ultras and love both. My black Raptor is my favorite Kimber. Maybe because I carry the everyday. I am having the frame on my ultra covert changed from tan to dark OD green. Should look cool when I get it back. Ultra is a great gun.

First time to shoot a Kimber Ultra

Same here. Love mine. Was a toss between a Ultra Raptor or the Ultra Covert... Couldn't resist the Covert. The digital camo and colors just appealed to me. Tried to explain it's accuracy to someone compared to my 5" Warrior SOC and he looked at me like my head was crooked. Accuracy is fine in both. Just a little extra kick. I have a bad wrist, so anything more than 200 rounds starts bothering my wrist unless I wear my leather wrist cuff for support. But that's my problem. I wouldn't let it deter you in any way....

Love it. Have same one. I took my laser grips off. Didn't work for my grip being left handed. I had seen a OD green and black kimber so I decided to change color of my frame on covert. Hope I don't regret it. Sometimes I wish I had left the laser grips and everything just like yours. It is a great looking gun.
