Range day tomarrow!

Heading out to the local public range in the morning. I need to get in some real, live fire, draw and shoot practice. I'm planning on shooting my first USPSA match in a couple of weeks. Dry fire will only take you so far.

I took the muzzle brake off of my old Kimber Classic so I can shoot it in the Single Stack class. I'm also taking a Ruger SR1911 and my Sig TACOPS. I need to find which one I can get on target the quickest from a draw. But I'm planning on shooting Kimber as my primary but you can bring a back-up if it's basically the same gun. After watching two guys lose their front sights in the same course of fire, having a back-up plan seems like a good idea.

You have to use "carry gear" in this class so I'll be using an Alien OWB holster and Blackhawk mag carriers. I'll also get to try out my new Howard Leight muffs with real gun fire.

All my targets and bench gear are already in the truck. Now I'm off to load about 20 mags for tomorrow.

Will do, Dave

I just got finished loading up my mags ....17 x 8 rounders, 3 x7 rders and a 10 rd range mag. That ought give me a good workout. Plus I have a couple of extra boxes in case I'm really feeling it.

Plus I just finished doing some work on my Sig 320 sub. I just got it back from the safety recall and added a trigger kit from APEX and can't wait to run a few mags through it too. So I loaded up 9x15 and 5x12 mags of 115grn FMJ for it too. Thank God for mag loaders...

The match is on the 22nd so I hope to get in at least one more practice day next week. I'll try to remember to bring my camera, my phone sucks as a camera for anything worth seeing.
