Mounted Not Mounted on Weapon

On your home defense weapon on your night stand or close to your bed do you have a flashlight mounted to it? Or if something goes bump in the night do you have and grab a light you carry in your off hand?

The CDP Ultra most of the time is my EDC and goes on the night stand before bedtime, separate light. There is always a small LED light on the night stand but it is not bright. The good bright light (Streamlight TLR-1) does not always make it to the night stand at bedtime. Never considered a "rail gun" until now, gun and light would be in hand with one movement, other hand could grab extra magazine or two.

Just wondered what others are doing with there bedside weapon.

I would assume anyone using a shotgun or rifle for home defense would have a light mounted.

I don't have a lite mounted to any of my firearms, but a NiteCore 1000 Lumen Tactical Flashlight is laying next to it on my nightstand..

It lights up our condo like you wouldn't imagine and it's small enough to hold next to the rail or freehand also..

I would recommend this to anyone...

Not mounted.

I have multiple flashlights within reach.

Not 1 mounted but reading this is making me thinks I needs one. Have several 660 lumen led tac lights spread out around my compound! Living in the country I hear shit all the time, always a fox or coyote, I get up grab light and gun but don't hit light until I look around and listen a bit more, then my dumb ass goes outside just so I can blind the shit out whatever animal it is, while my dog looks at me and is probably thinking "I will let you know when I see human, go back to bed so I can!"

There are some great videos about using handheld lights with pistols in self defense situations, I think it is best to keep them apart.

Only one gun with a rail (Glock 19). Hand held light here.

I have desert warrior with green laser and strobe light and flash light, I haven't used for home defense yet, but have considered it. I have a other rail gun on layaway. I may set it up for home defence. For now I use me every day ultra and a surefire tactical light that I love, it's a fantastic light and was a gift from my son.

I may have just dreamed up another gun to add to my list.
Your Desert Warrior w/green laser and strobe may be the home defense ticket.
Well I am rethinking the night situation, weapons and gear.

I don't have or care for gun mounted lights. I don't like the idea of pointing a loaded gun at someone to see who they are or what they're up to.
