Once the addiction starts....

So a month back, I picked up a Kimber Desert Warrior TFS for my 21st birthday. Well that wasn't enough. I had recently received my CCW license in WI and I knew I wasn't going to carry my new Kimber. Needless to say, I went to Cabelas yesterday and I got a M&P 45 Shield by S&W for my EDC. While I was waiting for the background check to go through, I took a stroll through their gun library. Cabelas does a great job of having a good selection of interesting used guns. I enjoy history and I don't have any surplus guns at the moment. And there sitting on the rack was a Soviet Mosin M38 carbine. Granted Mosins are a dime a dozen but they only made the M38 from 1939-1945. The one on the rack was from 1942 with all matching serial numbers. The better part was it was only $175. And after a good one second ponder, I started to fill out paperwork for the Mosin haha.

They may not be Kimbers, but I cant seem to stop buying guys as of late. Can't wait to shoot both of these this weekend!

Very surprised Cabelas didn't have the price of the Mosin jacked up like everything else they sell.

I normally don't buy from cabelas but they had the specific M&P Shield that I was looking for and I was able to get it for $414 before tax which is $66 dollars less than MSRP ($480 is the MSRP). Thats a pretty decent markdown considering the price point of the gun so I went for it.

The Mosins are fun to shoot as is most everything Enjoy I am going to put my addiction on hold until I get to Utah to buy my next firearm and you can believe it will be one that is not on California's approved list
Of course if I happen to trip over great deal on something here I could rationalize it was an investment and a smart business decision move. My addiction is alive and well

It's hard to fight this addictions. A somewhat local shop has M&P 2.0's on sale this weekend for $375, not a Kimber but I don't 1 yet hmmmm.

Congratulations on both guns. I bought my Browning BPS from Cabelas and it was a reasonable price but other than that I haven’t found any deals I had to have there, it doesn’t stop me from dropping in once in a while to take a look.

I love window shopping at Cabelas, they have one of the biggest selections of guns around here. When I find something I like I head over to Gunbroker.com to buy it.

Seth, you may not have noticed yet (being IN the addiction) but no one here will EVER try to talk you down! We LIKE people getting addicted same as we are -- I think it's called confirmation bias.... {wink}

I also on occasion enjoy window shopping at Cabelas and was doinf just that a few years ago when I had my "impulse, I'll show you, you dumbass salesman" moment at Cabelas. However SnowTao reaped the spoils from my moment of weakness and stupidity. That was the day I proved my point, got my secret revenge on the sales guy and paid full MSRP price for a Kimber Sapphire Pro. El, again your welcome my shooting buddy.
I recommend doing like Chuck, going in and kicking there tires then hit online GunBroker for the purchase.
