USPS: Collossal Incompetence

Anyone remember me working with Arland for some magazines for his new-to-him Colt Woodsman pistol?

Well, I sent him three very hard to find mags for his Colt through USPS Flat Rate Box. Two Day Delivery, right? WRONG!

Not only was the Two Day Delivery LATE by TWO days, when the box arrived, it was smashed flat and empty. BUT I got an mail from the USPS telling me "my package was delivered".

So because this fool did not take out insurance on the mags, I'm out the entire amount, and Arland has no magazines. All thanks to the epic incompetence of our very own U.S. Postal "Service". I'm so mad I could spit nails.

Remember this story next time you plan to send ANYTHING to anyone via these blundering fools.

Lesson learned!

I had that happen. I sent a knife to a person in Michigan. The box arrived empty. Post office wouldn't do anything.

Priority says two days, but the fine print says they don't guarantee two days. I've had it take over a week.

That sucks Rick. I had it happen once and from that day forward I insure what I send. I assume that you sold the mags for $100-$200 so that would have been an extra $2.45 for insurance to cover the loss.

I also take pics of what I'm sending as well as a pic of the package on the scale at the post office.

Shame, but I agree. They screw up constantly around here and they wonder why they are losing money. Time to privatize those idiots.

If it's something important I use UPS or FEDEX, if I have to use USPS I always insure it. My mail carrier is constantly putting other peoples mail in my mailbox.

I get other people’s mail all the time. My address is 3180 De Forest. The Traffic Court house is 3180 Del Monte. The USPS here uses a lot of Koreans. If a person sends in a traffic ticket fine and print the address, it goes to the Court. If they write it in cursive, it comes to me.
