So tight I could not rack the first round. Had to lock slide open insert magazine then rack it. After 150 rounds I could rack it but no pansies. I had to grunt. OK maybe I'm a pansy. Gator, I love the front strap. I remember you told me it wasn't for tender hands. It really grips good. I did not have any failures at all. I even did a little limp wristing on the last round of a few magazines and very happy there. However I did not shoot this gun as accurate out of the box as I did my Ultra. But it's going to get plenty of other chances if God be willing.
I agree. The Raptor feels different. It's as if the grip is a little wider, so the trigger reach is a small fraction of an inch longer than my Ultra and even my Custom. I wonder if they put some extra material in the frame so they could create that front strap? I really like that front strap. It's coarse but not painful. I've read some posts on the 'other forum' where soft-handed people were complaining.
Did that little blemish affect your shooting...?? Love the looks of that pistol.
Thanks, I don't think so. If anything affected it was time. I wanted to shoot a 150 rounds with my Raptor and 50 357 jhp's thru my Python. It was King and Queen day. Royalty has to stick together.
I also had to go to the hardware store and get me a Guage for my new BBQ pit my family got me for Father's Day. I want to start curing it tonight and tomorrow so it will be ready for Sunday and I got a late start so I was in a rush. I got it curing tho.
First 50 rounds
Thanks for the range report GR!! Sounds like you had a good time with the new toy. BTW, it's beautiful!! Even dirty, it's beautiful!!
Looking at your target, I have to ask.....are you a lefty?? It kind of looks like a bit of a pull going there. If so, try adjusting the trigger stop and do a bunch of dry firing. You'd be amazed as to how much that helps. The added bonus is that you will smooth out the action while you are at it. I like to do my dry firing while watching TV. I enjoy shooting the bad guys!!! Of course, you physically and visually verify that your pistol is unloaded prior to practicing and leave all ammo in another room. The TV you save may be your own!!! Be safe!!
