Magguts for Micro 380

Hey everyone,

First time posting on this forum. I just bought a kimber micro 380 and I love it! I've been interested in magguts. You get an extra round by changing out the internals of the mag. Anyone have experience using magguts with the micro?

Not with the Micro 380, but I have a Magguts kit in a Kahr. The stock magazine works fine, but I think the Magguts is at least as good if not better than the factory parts. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to install their parts in other guns.

Thanks for the input man. I'm probably gonna buy it soon.

Welcome to KT from Houston Texas !

I’ve got one Kimber Micro 7rnd mag with the Magguts spring system and have never had an issue with it. I’ve had it for about a year.

I see magguts don't make Kimber mags yet so I suppose you guys are using the Sig .380 mags, right?

I just bought a Micro .380 and three seven round mags. Also three magGuts spring sets that haven't arrived yet.

I've noticed that the stock 7-round mags will hold 8 rounds, but are very tight with eight and will not lock into place.

I'm wondering if the MagGuts kit will provide enough slack in the 7-round mag for 9 rounds while still locking in and feeding. Sure would be nice to have a 9+1 Micro .380.

The magguts kits for the kimber 7 round mag will not increase the mag cap to 9, it will increase it to 8.
I'm surprised you were able to get the 8th round in the mag but not surprised it wouldn't seat.
If this kit is anything like the kit for the 8 round the follower is completely different and there are 2 springs: 1 flat, 1 wire wound with a "cup" between them. These parts stack on top of each other and the combination of them is where you get your capacity increase - but mostly it's the follower.
