My New "Swinger"

Swinging steel target that is.

My son has a fabrication shop here and just made me a sweet swinger from some light steel tubing and an old chunk of T1 laying around in the shop. It takes down with two snap-pins and stows flat in the truck and really is a hoot for banging away with any of my Kimbers, and no re-setting now either as has been the drill with my 'combat silhouettes' used now for just over 35 years. Talk about taking a lickin' and keepin' on tickin'! Those babies have stopped a boatload of 9mm, .357, .44 and .45 bullets over all that time.

The new swinger:

Detail of the take-down system:

The 'old standard' for my pistol range time since the early 80's. Many of these old soldiers have been welded back up beaucoup times, but are still hangin' in there.

My new Aegis Elite Custom ready to head out and cause grave bodily harm to my collection of steel soon.....soon as the temp hits under 90 freakin' degrees that is!

Love those Wilson 10-round 9mm ETM mags too. Load up five of 'em and that's a box of ammo ready to go. Time to empty some brass as soon as it cools off here.

Nice steel. It would be nice to have a place like that outside to shoot.

Thanks Arland. It would be nicer if it were on my own property like some fortunate members here. But alas, it's sort of 'mine'.....BLM, hundreds of thousands of acres of it very close to home. I feel fortunate to have unlimited access.

I guess it's sort of yours too. "Ours" really by virtue of federal taxes. So thanks Arland for your contribution to 'our' range for me to enjoy! You're welcome to come and share it with me anytime!
