How'd Santa Know?

Santa, being the very smart fellow he is, somehow figured out that all the cursing coming from my gun room whilst cleaning any of my Kimber Ultra pistols could be eliminated.....with a smart and simple little gizmo from Texas.

1911 Kimber Ultra 2012 Takedown Tool

This tool has been mentioned here in the past. It is one of those little thingies that screams "why didn't the factory supply this tool?"

I see that it is patented also and works as advertised. It makes stripping for cleaning and maintenance a snap, and reassembly just as easy, and eliminates the need for the silly factory-supplied "bent paperclip".

A very cool stocking stuffer, and a tool that really WORKS!

Dang Rick, I thought everyone with an Ultra used this tool. I bought mine about a week after I broke mine down for the first time and it stayed that way until I found a similar tool posted on this Forum.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

You'll love it. I have a little plastic one that lines up the take-down lever right over the hole in the left side of the receiver.

I'm careful, and I have no "idiot marks," but they also make a little plastic slide that slips under the hole to protect the frame. I haven't seen them lately, but some one here will know where to find them.

I use a "Guitar Pick" to prevent scratches, you can buy them in bulk cheap, easy to find.

Mine came with an idiot mark pre...installed. Regardless, for some reason that link isn't working for me.

Bear: Just tried the link from my post and it connected right away. Are you maybe using a VPN that is blocking the site? I have Nord VPN and many times I have to disable it to connect to certain sites and send email to some folks. Sporadic to say the least.

Yep, AVG. Other than Netflix, it's never given me an issue like this.
