Kimber 1911 grips

Anyone know of a good website to buy used 1911 grips? Preferably kimber grips, but any 1911 grips website will do. I just bought a pro carry hd 2 and Iím looking to get a pair of grips and was wondering if I could save a few bucks buying some used ones. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Hsfb24, I don't know of any specific place you could look for a set of grips. I'd suggest you try posting a "Want To Buy" in our "Parts & Accessories" sub forum.

Hhow about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

You could check out vz grips, they arent factory but they have a large choice of g-10 grips both standard and thin. Plus they offer the thin grip bushings and screws.

I'll back up 427 here Ö I really love G-10 and VZ makes some really nice ones. Lots of styles and colors. G-10 offers a nice grippy surface without being sticky like rubber or slick like wood. I have several sets on both 1911s and revolvers Ö even my EDC.

I also really like the aluminum panels made by Valkyrie Dynamics. Virtually weightless and a grip surface that can't be beat. You'll either love the looks or hate them Ö I have two sets.

Trying to add to the choices already mentioned: Ebay and GunBroker sell 1911 grips but probably 70% of the grips for sale will be Colt 1911 grips. If you just want some nice wood grips that don't have to be Kimber, check Altamont Grips, they have a web site.

Just want to add a caution here about VZ grips. They are a great company with fantastic customer service however if you buy their thin style grips do not buy their thin bushings. They are proprietary to VZ and normal gun tools will not fit and VZ does not offer a tool that fits either and will tell you to grind down a screwdriver.

G-10 grips on eBay by companies like Cool Hand are very reasonable and you can find Kimber factory grips used also.

If you have time and patience, I scrolled thru couple hundred pages of grips on GunBroker a year or so ago, that's when I found the still in Kimber factory package original Giraffe Bone grips for the 1980's price. They were so cheap I called them to make sure the price online was correct, it was. You can score if you have extra time.
