Kudos to Kimber customer service

I love my Micro 9...not that it's going to be the last Kimber I ever buy, but I love it as deep concealment piece. It shoots great.

About a month ago, I noticed that the black finish was wearing off the slide where in lots of the spots where it connects the rails or frame. The ejection port was also showing not just brass marks, but was chipping along the bottom edge.

While I believe pistols that I carry are tools, and it did its job, I also liked the way it looked and could picture it getting so ugly it would be impossible to ever sell. So I call customer service and spoke to a nice woman named Dawn. She asked me to send her pictures, so I did, and she replied with an RMA and sent a label.

I boxed and sent it on January 14 and got it back today with the slide refinished, the recoil spring replaced and this invoice for $0...all warranty. I think they also polished the barrel and feed ramp, because they look better than when they were new. The slide is perfect, inside and out!

I'm glad to hear you're happy with the way they took care of you Bigdog. I think people underestimate Kimbers customer service.

I had a similar issue with my UCII .45 on the frame side. Got it back 10 days later, with a polished ramp. It was a great experience!

Welcome to the coating issues with Kimber, had both my .380 and my Pro sent back for issues and they turned them around sent them back better than new. The customer service is the BEST, just wish their finishes were.

My Micro Carry .380 was sent in for a "spa day" several years ago. I went ahead and ordered a set of night sights while she was there thinking I'd save on shipping. They went ahead and comped the installation as well as tossing in a few new magazines a well :-)
I subsequently ordered a PRO CDP II 9mm...
They earned my business.

While I will agree with your assessment of Kimber's customer service, I as well have had great service from them......just think how great it would be if they were like the maytag repairman......
