Question 9mm Kimber Ultra ammo

I know this is a loaded question, but what brand and grain 9mm ammo are you girls finding that works most reliable in a Kimber Ultra? I know that different guns like different ammo but if the answer to this question is lopsided in favor of one brand or grain of ammo it will help me with my ammo order.

How about 9mm hollow points in the Ultra? Any particular brand or grain? I'm not searching for self defense loads, just ammo that feeds and works reliable and I may keep a few mags loaded with HP's, just in case.

My UCII will eat whatever I put in it.
For carry, I like Speer gold dot +p HP’s. Work just fine and are accurate.

My Diamond Ultra 9 shoots 115, 124 and 147 just fine. I have used CCI Brass Blazer, Freedom new and reman, Speer lawman, Remington UMC and a few others with no problem. I mostly shoot 124gr through this gun. It seems to do well with any decent brass ammo.

Hollow tips I have used Federal HST 124, Speer Gold Dot 124+P and Remington Golden Saber 124 and 147gr.

Don’t have a 9mm but my .45 Ultra will fire everything I’ve used both ball and hollow points. Used to use Freedom Munitions but now use a local shop that uses
the XTP for HP.

My 9mm Ultra will fire anything I run in it but I used 147gr. ammo to break it in.

All very good advice so far.

I'll deviate a tad on this one. After looking at all the ballistic performance vids available for defensive ammo, and the fact that I almost always carry either one of my .45's or nines, for the 9mm's I carry Hornady Critical Defense FXP 115gr, as from looking at all the wound channel vids, (Lucky Gunner) over penetration factors, this load performed best in pistols with 3" barrels......same as my Ultra's and Micro 9.

I'm an advocate of 'heavy bullets', but the performance of this lighter 115gr load was the best in all the tests I've seen to date. About 12" of penetration in gelatin, no over penetration, and perfect expansion from the tests in water jugs I did myself.

Results fired from 7 yards into full plastic water-filled milk jugs:

All bullets stopped in 'jug #5, perfectly expanded. Good enough for me.

(For the record, in my .45's I carry this load in 185gr.)

Thank ya'll very much, you've been very helpful.

Aggie,
Awesome video comparisons.

I'd have to give the nod to standard 124 HST's
