Stainless II Classic Engraved Edition

The wife and I were in a gun shop a couple weeks ago. She left with. Kimber Sapphire 380, Gun Toting Mama purse, leather holster and a few other goodies.

While we were there I noticed a beautiful engraved Kimber that Id never seen in person before. It was a Stainless II Classic Engraved Edition. The shop said they would let me have it for $1,900 out the door. After lots of drooling I passed it up mainly because we had already dropped a lot coin. Also, Im a 9mm guy and have steered away from 45 cal (not that there is anything wrong with 45).

Just wanted to share what I found.

I would have drooled too, but $1900 is a bit steep for my wallet.

Not sure engraving makes a gun any better just more expensive. But since the wife was getting all those new goodies she probably wouldn't have minded you doing a lay-a-way and making a few payments. I've bought a couple of nice guns this way in the last few years put down 20% or so and make three or four payments.

Yeah, for sure. My wife would hang me if I did something that expensive in a handgun.

What the wife doesn't know won't hurt her. But with my luck she would catch me walking in the door with it then I would be like oh shit.

Too bad you couldn't take a picture, I would have liked to see it.

I guess the object of that would be purely as an investment? I dont think that I would ever shoot it so I would never buy it just to let it sit in my safe and pass down.
Just me.

Thanks John, it's not what I was expecting, I don't care for it.

Is that what Kimber automatics are going for now? Yikes.

I just posted a picture of my Kimber. If memory serves me (and it usually doesn't) I paid 600 bucks for that pistol, and I felt the pain of mindless acquisition.

I think I also have +/-ten Wilson-Rogers magazines from that era. I dread checking the modern price for those, as well.

...I'm going to start raising my polishing fees just to buy modern stuff...
