Second Time to the Range with the 10mm -- No Bueno!

The Sig 180gr 10mm were jamming on the first trip. Polished the feed ramp with a Dremel and Flitz. Tried Sellier & Bellot 180gr. Even worse! Any ideas?

Oh, and here's the ramp AFTER polishing. Notice the deep marks on either side of the ramp.

I believe that you should contact Kimber, perhaps show them the pics and seek their advice. They will make it right.

looks to be a extractor issue-probably too tight.
Extractor has to allow the case rim to slide underneath it-it doesn't look like thats happening by your picture.
Just an idea

After doing some Googling I've found that this condition is known as a "3-point jam." From what I've read it's likely caused by an improperly fit barrel link. I'll chat with Kimber. Maybe they can just send out a new threaded barrel with a properly polished feed ramp and properly fitted link. But I'm guessing they'll want to see the complete pistol. I'll post an update after the call.

I don't own anything 10mm, are both of those 180gr bullets FMJ/Hard Ball or some type of defense hollow point?

Lube pistol well.
Use FMJ ammo.

Kimber could declare pistol has been altered and deny warranty?

If polishing their rough feed ramp is deemed to have "altered" their pistol to the extent that they will "deny warranty" I can guarantee you this will be the first and LAST Kimber I will ever own. I will also share my displeasure with Kimber's policy with everyone I shoot with or even meet on the range. Let's be realistic here!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with your 10mm. You should have contacted Kimbers customer service before trying to fix the problem yourself. I don't know if Kimber will replace your barrel but I'm hoping they will. If they don't, before you start bad mouthing the company read your warranty and think about what you did, you have no one to blame but yourself.

This is not my first pistol. My Walther PPQ in 45 ACP has been flawless right out of the box. My Springfield XDM in 10mm has been flawless right out of the box. Never had a problem with any of my Glocks. In fact, the only pistol that I had to send back to the mothership was a Taurus PT145. I was hoping Kimber's quality was better than Taurus. Now the question is will Kimber deny warranty service on my malfunctioning pistol simply because I attempted to polish its rough feed ramp. I'll update this post after I talk to Kimber Service.
