What to do when your slide is at the Mothership?

My new Aegis Elite Custom (OI) was affected by the recent optic plate recall, so after getting my RMA, it was sent off to the Mothership.

So what to do with the remaining parts? Go out to the shop and polish stuff, that's what you do! Not wanting to get too radical, I just prettied up the barrel hood and muzzle area (less friction ya know ) and of course the guide rod.

My geezer eyes did not focus the close-ups properly, but you get the idea....

Don't want to get carried away while she's apart, so I think I'll stop here and call it good. (Wilson Shok-Buff on the guide rod)

I'm certain once reassembled, it will most likely shoot better after all this polishing (throw me a bone here......) I just want to go shoot the dang thing again!

Looks nice

If TX comes back to the forum and sees this thread he's gonna have a Kimber warranty meltdown.

Shiny we like shiny. You may have the plan get Kimber to do the warranty work first then polish the heck out of it!

I have the same issue. My Aegis Elite Custom is at the mothership to for the recall. I just shoot one of my others but the Aegis Elite is my favorite.

Great job Rick! Attaboy! YES it will be more accurate and function better.
Flitz and a buffing wheel strikes again, please tell me you used Flitz.
Did you hit that feed ramp a lick or too?

Looking good Rick. That's a good idea. Has anyone else polished the feed ramp? Does it work better?
