Classic Custom Royal

Just trying to get information on a Kimber Classic Custom Royal bought in 1997.
Believe manufactured in 1996 probably last of the Series 70 out of Yonkers, New York?
Anyone know how many were produced?

1996 would have made it a Clackamas rollmark. Rare guns, very nice!

It couldn't be a 1996 gun it has a Yonkers N.Y. roll mark.

Exactly Chuck. Kimber didn't move to Yonkers until 1997.

Tim, welcome to the site from Tennessee.

All Kimber's even current production models (without II ) after the name on the slide is 70 Series.

I doubt anyone knows production numbers on any Kimber's. The mothership may know but they are tight lipped with that information. I heard records were lost?

Series-II came about in 2001. As mentioned, Kimber produced many pistols after that date without the Swartz safety. If there is no Roman numeral II in the name it has no firing pin safety.

I have a Classic Stainless Kimber I bought in 1999. I wrote Kimber CS and gave them the serial number and they emailed me the date of manufacture was 10/28/1998, so they do have records. They also told me the original approximate MSRP. It is a series 70 and is a dream to shoot, but it is mostly a safe queen now.

It's pictured below with my Micro 9.

Yes, they can give you a date of manufacture by providing a serial number with a simple phone call to customer service, sometimes a MSRP. Like I said they may have production numbers but don't/won't give out that information. I know the manufacture date on a lot of mine but that's about it as far as information.
